After breastfeeding, why I choose to give my children SoyPro, Soygreen and Phytofit as their milk than formula milk?

Blessed that I get to know E.Excel and Science of Nutritional Immunology when I was 29 years old, and with the knowledge that I learnt it gives me many wisdom in taking care of my babies during my pregnancy and when they are born.

This is my no 1 (Boy) and no 2 (Girl), both of them are 2018 and 2020 babies.

Make a guess, which is Kor Kor and which is Mei Mei ? 😆

This year, they are 5 years old and 3 years old.

During their entire babies growing up journey, they never touched any formula milk except during the first day when my milk supply hasn't kicked in yet.

With the nourishment of SoyPro, Oxyginberry, Millenium during entire breastfeeding journey, I successfully breastfed them for 1 year for my no1, and 1.5 years for my no2.

I remembered the fridge situation when I breastfeed them, where at the end I just pump as I need.

After which, they then switch over to Phytofit, Soygreen and SoyPro as their regular milk supply instead of formula milk. From milk botle to eating the powder directly, till cup, they found their different ways of enjoying their daily soy milk.

The main reason why I don't opt for formula milk, simply because of the ingredients.

Can you tell from both the ingredients labels below, which is wholesome and which is mostly synthetically made?

The answer is probably quite simply right?

The one on top is made of Soybean, Banana, Brocolli, etc etc, where the ingredients are very strict forward in letting us know that it's wholesome fruits and vegetables.

While the ingredient label at the bottom is one of common formula milk brand available in the market. Usually how the ingredients label are labelled are from most used to the least used. If you look at the ingredient label, most used ingredients are first Maltodextrin (as carbohydrates), following by Vegetable Oil, then a Whey protein, Sucrose and other vitamins and minerals.

All these vitamins and minerals are important, however, we can choose to get it from wholesome fruits and vegetables, instead of from chemically made sources.

For example, Soy itself, is very high in calcium, folate, thiamine, manganese, etc etc. Broccoli, has a high iron, potassium, vitamin C, etc etc.

Not only that, when we obtain the nutrients from wholesome fruits and vegetables, it's not only giving us the basic nutrients, it gives us immune fighting diseases such as Phytochemicals, Antioxidants, and Polysaccharides.

What's the issue if we are taking the nutrients from chemically made ingredients?

You can read up more from article below:

As consumer, we may think, we are not taking any of these vitamins and minerals anyway, it won't do much harm if I just take a little bit.

Don't forget, these have been fortified into most of the food nowadays, such as baby biscuit, breakfast cereals, cookies, etc etc.

For example, some of the popular children breakfast cereals, where you can see most chemically made ingredients are added.

With that in mind, as parents, I would rather opt for something natural and wholesome for their growing up.

In additional, all the Nutritional Immunology food has been receiving Singapore Food Agency Food Safety Gold Award.

With more and more complex world nowadays, food safety plays an very important role so that for a food products, it can be safey consumed by baby, pregnant ladies, young children, elderly and everyone.

From birth till now, it's quite blessed that through proper nourishment as daily breakfast on Phytofit, Soypro or Soygreen, so far they hardly see doctor, when when they started their preschool.

Just this year alone, so far they only fall sick once, and they do recover pretty soon within 2 to 3 days. It save all the worries and burden from a working mum with healthy growing up children.

Folate or Folic Acid?

Again, another article that explains well on what is Falate and Folic Acid.

Thanks to Nutritional Immunology, I know the differences well.

Multiple evidence shows the fact that folic acid increases the risk of getting lung cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer.

http://chriskresser.com/folate-vs-folic-acid

What’s the difference between folate and folic acid?

Folate is a general term for a group of water soluble b-vitamins, and is also known as B9. Folic acid refers to the oxidized synthetic compound used in dietary supplements and food fortification, whereas folate refers to the various tetrahydrofolate derivatives naturally found in food. (1)
The form of folate that can enter the main folate metabolic cycle is tetrahydrofolate (THF). (2) Unlike natural folates, which are metabolized to THF in the mucosa of the small intestine, folic acid undergoes initial reduction and methylation in the liver, where conversion to the THF form requires dihydrofolate reductase. The low activity of this enzyme in the human liver, combined with a high intake of folic acid, may result in unnatural levels of unmetabolized folic acid entering the systemic circulation.

Risks associated with excessive folic acid intake

While the incidence of NTDs in the United States been significantly reduced since folic acid fortification began, there has been concern about the safety of chronic intake of high levels of folic acid from fortified foods, beverages and dietary supplements. (5) One of the major risks associated with excessive intake of folic acid is the development of cancer. (6) In patients with ischemic heart disease in Norway, where there is no folic acid fortification of foods, treatment with folic acid plus vitamin B12 was associated with increased cancer outcomes and all-cause mortality. In the United States, Canada, and Chile, the institution of a folic acid supplementation program was associated with an increased prevalence of colon cancer. (78) A randomized control trial found that that daily supplementation with 1 mg of folic acid was associated with an increased risk of prostate cancer. (9)
Researchers have hypothesized that the excessive consumption of folic acid in fortified foods may be directly related to the increase in cancer rates. Excess folic acid may stimulate the growth of established neoplasms, which can eventually lead to cancer.

Key message - taking excessive folate (coming from wholesome fruits and vegetables) doesn't cause any side effects. However, excessive folic acid (aka B9) leads to the risk of getting cancer.

Do you know that in our diet, we are often taking a lot of folic acid due to the fortification done in our processed food?

Have a look at the cereals that we take on day to day.

Can you see once again between natural vs man-made? Wholesome food is the way to go.

Which do you prefer the most?

Which is more natural?
