Importance of Protein

 Earlier, I shared about starting our day with Healthy Breakfast 

In fact, after understanding more, It's very important for our breakfast to incorporate with 

  • High Protein
  • High Fiber
  • High Antioxidant

Breakfast is like a break from overnight fasting, if we are indulging with high fats or oil, it will burden our body. 

Why Protein is so important to our body? It's actually essential component for our cell regeneration and maintenance. 

How importance is protein to our day to day surviving


How do we know if we are lack of protein?

  • A changes in hair thickness and texture
  • Low energy levels and fatigue
  • Poor Concentration
  • Muscle, bone and joint pain
  • Slow wound healing
  • Lower immunity, failing sick more easily
  • Nail changes
  • Dry and flaky Skin
  • Accumulation of fluid

So, how much protein do we need?

The US Academy of Nutrition and Diabetic recommends that Healthy adults should consume about 0.8gram of protein per KG of body weight each day.

Athletes should consume about 1.2-2.0 grams of protein per kg of body weight. 

Say if we are about 50kg, we need 0.8g x 50 KG of protein each day, that's 40g of protein each day to support our body. 

So it's important to start our day with high protein diet. For me, I opted for SoyPro as my safe convenience.

Have you tried GojiGarden?

Have you tried GojiGarden (枸杞花园) that's launched in June at HK?


There is GojiGarden Rose, GojiGarden Yuzu and GojiGarden Osmanthus.

The ingredients are simple: It's made of Black Gojiberry and Rose, Black Gojiberry and Yuzu, as well as Black Gojiberry and Osmanthus. 

Most exciting part about GojiGarden is it changes colour according to the PH of the water. 

With alkaline, it will turn into deep purple colour
With acidic water such as Lemon water, it will turn into pink colour

Nutritional Immunology Learning with Dr Chen @ MBS after 3 years

After 3 years of hiatus due to covid , finally Nutritional Immunology learning with Dr Chen is finally resumed!

This round, with more enriched and fruitful learning on Nutritional Immunology. Ticket was fully sold less than half an hour when it was launched, it was indeed a hard to get ticket. 



 



One of Important learning: 科技无法战胜大自然 ( Technology cannot defeat nature )


With the advancement of technology, we often thought of products of technology is always better, but mother natures (God's made) has it's wisdom in having all things in place. 

Such as an Orange (God's made ) vs Vitamin C (man-made)

Such as Kale, Acelora Cherry (God's made) vs Iron Pill (man-made)

Such as Soybean (God's made) vs Calcium Pill (Man-made)... etc etc

and many other examples


All man-made things tend to bring along with side effects. 

Such as overconsumption of Vitamin C, post a risk of increase amount of oxalate in urine, and more shockingly, vitamin C pills are linked to DNA damage in the body, which contributes to cancer. 

For calcium pills, it increases the risk of heart attack by 30%



It's again proven to us, Mother nature has all the wisdom :)



What Nutritional Immunology advocates are simply to more disease fighting nutrients in our diet, especially Phytochemical, Antioxidant and Polysaccharide. This is perhaps very lacking in our day to day diet.
